I will be playing next weekend with a new group and one of the songs on the playlist is Hook by Blues Traveler. I have never played it but have heard it often. I remember when I first heard the solo, Popper seemed to be playing very fast. Now that I have a bit of harp knowledge, he seems to do a number of glissandos up and down the harp on the high end and midrange. Is that what he is doing? Any hints on learning this would be helpful.

He seems to be more at home at the higher notes of the harp. As I recall him saying in one of his "instructional" videos he said something to the effect of if you can't play, learn ways to cheat.

What I hear him doing is a lot of tongue movement around the mid to high notes and a lot of fast trilling up and down the harp.Tossing in some blowbends.

I'm pretty sure the tabs were done by Winslow Yerxa.
The song is slowed down to practice speed with "Jamman" -- there is also "SlowDowner" (recommended)
Best of luck

Thank you both. This is greatly appreciated! Now to the woodshed
