I watched the movie "Heartbreak Hotel" a 1988 movie written and directed by Chris Columbus yesterday (really enjoyed the movie too), and at the end of the credits was the Elvis song "The Power of My Love" with some really nice harp.

I researched it a bit, and I'm pretty sure the harmonica player's name wss Ed Kollis.

I tried finding the song on Amazon, and they're appeared to be several versions which all sounded the same, and also discovered there are several "takes" of the song out there.

But I found this YouTube video, and I'm pretty sure this is the same version that I heard at the end of the movie.

And this short video with Ed Kollis:

Anyone else heard of Ed Kollis ?

Hi KC... Happy Holidays to you too!

My wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary the last weekend in January... not sure I can get out of that!

But I'm thinking about it... don't know if I want to be calling her "the plaintiff" ! :)

Yes, I´ve heard of Ed Collis (or Kollis or Colis). He plays harmonica on "Naturally", JJ Cale´s first album from 1970. Also, as you´ve alreday noted, he was on Elvis´ Nashville session early 70s.

@AirMojo: "Naturally" is highly recommended -- as are the first five or six Cale albums, but not primarily for their harmonica content. It´s just good music that more or less defined a genre.
