I've heard about this amp and finally tried it out at the store. I like the amp. It doesnt have thick bass, its not 30 watts(thats why I'm getting two) but its a clean fender tone with enuff crunch to make me happy. Big bass response is not a big desire for me so its perfect. What a sound! David Barrett was right. I heard another guy play thru this amp with swapped speakers, but didnt sound good to me...yes we can get distinctive sounds from our equipment and I'm no pro, but I tried it myself and I can tell the difference in his sound and my sound(I play the Super Champ stock). I believe the eqipment gives a tone I as we all know tone comes from player but I won't judge another amp based on another player unless I know he can make it sound good:))). Anyway I have a HG-DT love it as well. David said SCXD/X2 is recommended for students, but one can gig with this as anytime. Just has a "sweet" sound to me, that's all I know.

Do you have the xd or the x2? Or both? I thought the x2 seemed to have better preamp voicings than the xd, so I'm interested to know if you have compared them and what you found out. I have a Vibro Champ xd which has same preamp as super champ xd. I really like it for a home practice amp, small quiet jam amp especially now it seems the speaker broke in. Anyway I don't use many of the voicings but thought the x2 may be more versatile ----------

I have the XD. I also have the Vibro Champ XD, it sounds good but I like the 10 inch speaker better on the Super I don't have to use the "gain" knob which I hate for harp.
Here is a first time jam with a great young guitar I used the Vibro Champ XD, please excuse my sloppy playing, I'm no professional just been playing on my own for just under 4 years...but the Vibro is good.

Cheers, I'll check that out when I get close to base. On the vibro I use voice 4 and gain quite low, volume up. Sometimes I use voice 2 but not often ----------

I love the super champ xd for Tone with a guitar, for the money best amp Ive ever had ,But never had anything great either;-)Right now im using the rp155 in a small PA cause its working for miced harp and cigar box guitar, but I havent yet found a favorite setting for guitar,The super champ,Blows the rp155 away for tone and just a few nice effect options.I like the rp155 for harp because I can get a louder sound without feedback But ive heard the super champ xd can be set up nice for harp.I just havent really messed with it,Im trying to firgure out the rp 155 ---------- Hobostubs

there great best 89$ Ive spent in awhile,I was needing a guitar tuner it has that,a 20 sec loop, and all kinds of settings and effects,Im going to get the Hunter harp patches when I can get some extra cash,Pick out a dozen or so and have the rest set up for CBG and guitar,It doesnt sound as good running it into the super champ(superchamp sounds best on its own),but I might not have it hooked up the best posible way,But though my 60 watt PA I can crank it about 3/4 full on a couple settings I played around with. And I hear the Hunter patches can get even louder,I cant wait to take it to a jam its a small PA 2 10's But its the best setup Ive come across out of 3 amps Ive tried. the PA and the rp155 only cost $300 total ---------- Hobostubs
