I am in need of a cool Harmonica case. I would like a tweed or something old school looking to carry my mic and harmonicas in. Fender used to have one but now I cannot find them for sale anymore. Anyone have any ideas? Or if anyone has one of those fender cases for sale let me know.

Go to Craigslist and look in the antique section. Here locally just today I saw several early-mid 1900s tweed or similar travel suitcases perfect for turning into a harp gear case. The ones I saw were selling for under 20 bucks. With a few parts you could make your own harp gear ready for much cheaper than buying a new case premade. ---------- Bend it like Ricci - Me

Looking on ebay could be a good idea. Here's mine, and I also have an insert and a few tweed make-up cases like this around.

Just looked, some make-up ones are $ but this one starts bidding at $9. I'd buy the insert, about$30, and find the tweed case this way. I've had enough cases and this approach is really good.

@ JD - yeah I had it on craigslist for a little bit but no one in Knoxville is into that kind of stuff. You could craigslist a tweed bassman for a grand and no one would buy it it's dang near impossible to sell anything out here. Thanks for the Bluexlab tip.

I'm another vote for Slim's cases. I've got a tweed I've had for several months now and it is a great case.

I use an old trumpet case featuring an original large Old Crow newspaper ad on the outside. I carry 28 diatonic harps, four pedals and four mics. I got it on Purple Heart online, threw away the old, beat-up trumpet, and I was off to the races.

I was helping my mother clean out her attic today. Unfortunately, it's all beaten up, and still has a French Horn in it, but a French Horn case would make a pretty cool harp case!
A baritone case might fit an amp.

Slim is the man on cases. I have one that holds 40 and has the mic stand attachment. Also had him make nother one with a mic attachment on the bottom and one on the removable lid to be used as an accessory tray. Some harp player from the Navy stole it from me... If you see him, get it back! :)

This thread got me curious about getting a custom insert for my old camera case that has served me well for the last 5 years with a foam insert that filled about 75% of the interior. WIthin a day, looking at a photo of what I had, using the measurements I sent and the harps and mics I wanted in the case, Slim had a design for a custom insert that was a slam dunk!! WIthin 24 hours, question, answer, information, suggestion, design, sale!! Wish I dealt with more people like this.

I was looking at diamond plate aluminum boxes for my car trailer the other day and I came across a small diamond plate case and thought to myself ooh that'd be a cool harp case.

I made one for Adam a couple years ago. It was lined with Spanish cedar (same thing used in cigar humidors) for a nice smell. The harps were held in place with rare earth magnets under the cedar, and the handle was an old Golden Melody. It held about 6 or 8 harps, and the case was built from maple and rosewood veneer.

@logansays - I do believe that is the nicest I've ever seen. A bit limited in the number of keys but exceedingly cool for jams or any situation where you just need the six most used keys. I've done a lot of acoustic gigs where it would be perfect. I'd be interested to know who made it, the craftsmanship looks pretty remarkable, or failing that I might try to find a leather worker locally to do something similar.
Have you found any problem with the covers getting bent from pressing the snaps in place? ---------- LSC

I love the case above with the embossed gun! Problem is if someone spotted it at a gig, they mught call security on you.
I do gigs in and around Chicago. I've had a few occasions where I was asked by security to open my case when walking in a bar. Considering this crazy world we live in today, I always cooperate. Anybody else have this happen??
