Does anyone have any pointers or tab on playing the intro to the Ozark Mountain Daredevils song: If you want to get to heaven. I have seen a couple tabs but I can't seem to get it right. I have listened and listened and just can't quite get it right any pointers on articulation, phrasing or a complete tab would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I don't have tab,but I can play it better than the you tube lessons I saw,and about as well as the keyboard player in the wedding band that goes the tune on you tube, but maybe I can help.

I learned it by picking it apart, here is how I did it,

The riff goes over two measures, count it 1 2 3 4 2 2 3 4, what I did was used my mp3 player to record just the first measure, listened to that till I got it in my head, learned that part, then did the same with the second measure, then put the two together.Everything happens on the first four holes.

the first measure starts with the full bend 2 D,then two draw chords on the 123 holes, then, and this the part that seems to trip people up, three quick 234 chord hole blows then one three draw half step bend, then one 123 blow chord then one 123 draw chord.

The second part or measure goes like this, half step 3 draw bend twice on the 123 draw chord, then 3 times on the 234 blow chord ,the 3 draw half step bend, then once on the 123 blow chord, then once on the 123 draw chord.
I have tried to tab it for you, with an explanation

The first line is the beats the notes fall on,the second is either blow or draw, third is the # hole on the harp, and the fourth shows the bent notes

1 + 2 +a3 + 4+ 2+2+a3 + 4 +

Hope this helps
