Video of world record harmonica attempt at Houston Astros game, with Mark Lempert, Sonny Boy Terry, Gary Allegretto, and others. It takes a while to get to the good stuff:

In concept it's super cool! In practice it looks painful yet hilarious :) . So, did they actually break the record?

Bro's i watched the vid it was a shocker IMO
easily the biggest harmonica Flop of the year:(

so i had to check out the Record Holders i see why they won just looking at the many groups of people
competing looked like school groups and other groups, they even took time to learn to play the harp and know the tune, some well thought out planing went into there attempt:)

Let's hope the crowd was notified that they were going to attempt to break a record in the guiness book. That would explain why so many left given the opportunity. I'm guessing this was a big investment aren't those $1 harmonicas they passed out? Insignificant until you multiply it by 10,000. No reason not to try again, maybe next time they could get all the people crowded around the ball at news years eve to try. Not like they would leave early cause new years didn't come that year, lol.

Very very nice.

Does it always HAVE to be the "Mannish Boy" riff?

Yeah, this was a great, great idea! That great American pasttime sometimes goes into extra innings and sometimes the crowd takes a leave of absence. This one ended in the 11th and a enough folks bailed to screw up the best laid plans.

They gave out the harmonicas before the game w/ a promise from those who got one, they would stay. Turns out the game went into extra innings and only 5000 people stayed given it was midnight. I have to tell ya, being out on the field, I would play my riff and delayed by several seconds before it came thru the PA at the park. The Pocket Full of Soul Movie producers pretty much conceived the whole idea so we went along. We would have broken it had the game ended earlier. But there was a lot of weirdness around the whole deal because it was after a pro baseball game. It was alot of fun

Is that where all the Harrison B-Radicals went?
