Yeah, Les gets some good blues grooves going on. There's a YouTube video of Les Jamming with The Blues Travelers. He definitely can hold his own! ---------- Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy. -Dan Castellaneta
Not sure how new this is - I believe 'The Rockford Files' used harp in the title tune and solo harp to break between scenes (some sort of refrain on the title tune?). Or is my memory failing (yet again)?
the discovery channel is doing more to keep the harp alive than any other organization i know. aint nothing hitting as many people as all the shows it airs with harp in it.
I was watching a football game the other day and a Viagra commercial came on that featured Howlin' Wolf's "Smokestack Lightning." That was the first time I saw it. I almost choked on my beer.
Yes! The Rockford Files! It is old. Everytime it comes on I have to change the channel because I hate the harmonica playing so much...... And because it's "Rockford Files"..... And because of James Garner........
....."Maverick, how did you pull that Ace?". "Magic"............ ---------- ---Go Chicago Bears!!!---
My kids watch a show on Disney called Timmy Time. It is a spin off of Shaun the Sheep (from the creators of Wallace and Gromit). It is imported from the UK but each episode has some awesome harmonica playing in it. I've been meaning to tape an episode to see if I can't work out what in being played.
A&E has a lot of harmonica. Sometimes the SYFY stuff like Ghosthunters and Fact or Faked have it...at least I think they do.
But in general, harmonica is all over tv. Mostly with a delta feel or heavily distorted rock, but it is all over the place ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Amp for Harp Blog
I like the version of Tom Waits 'Way down in the Hole' by the 'The Five Blind Boys of Alabama', as featured on the first series of the excellent 'The Wire'. It's not over complicated but it has a good vibe. Harp solo kicks in around 2.07.
