I can only think of one piece of blues music which features someone whistling. Guy Mitchell, Singing the Blues.

Anyone know of any others?

I was tempted to say Big Noise From Winnetka, but that's jazz.

I don't know of any others but when I am listening to music (alone) I whistle accompaniment and solos.

I work my musical muscle when I can't play an instrument, like while I'm working construction.

I didn,t know if you meant blues tunes that contained just whistling without vocals throughout or just tunes that included whistling but Kim Wilson whistles on a tune called Poor Boy which is featured on they,re 4th release I believe called T-Bird Rhythm. It definately adds a nice touch to the song with a nice reverb added.

Many years ago, in the mid 70s, the Climax Blues Band had an album--and I had the album--where they covered an old Mississippi blues about teaching a bird to sing. That song had whistling. "I have a bird to whistle, and I have a bird to sing."

The song is called "Losin' the Humbles." (I just tracked it down):

I would throw in Toots Thieleman's "Bluesette" - one he plays both on harmonica and whistles.

Might not be strictly blues, but as Duke Ellington said - "it's all music!"

The two tunes that always end up coming out when I whistle is J. Giles Centerfold and the Andy Griffith theme song. Depending on the style of blues Centerfold might pass. Andy Griffith could make a good on stage joke tune. Guns and Roses uses whistling and I'm not sure if the birds on The Beatles 'Blackbird' are whistles. That's the whole extent of all the whistling songs I can think of.

Not blues, so I didn't put it in my first post, but for me the ultimate whistling song has to be Otis Redding's "Dock of the Bay".

Not blues but I remember this guy from years ago being a wicked Whistler. Tis Roger Whittaker. Is he using overblows?
