Adam, Satan, and Professor SixMillion

When I first began playing with Mr. Satan (Sterling Magee) on 125th Street in Harlem, he was working with a washtub bass player named Bobby Bennett, a.k.a., Professor SixMillion. This photo was taken in November 1986, only a month or so after we began playing together. Notice that Sterling is playing only one hi-hat cymbal (or "sock cymbal," as he called it). He added the second cymbal and a wooden sounding board in March 1987.
