All the famous drummers I mentioned that backed me up were always early, straight, and easy to get along with. the crap musicians are usually the ones that are full of themselves and unfortunately they make up the majority of the field thus there are so many wacked vibe guys out there. They think that is what a real star is all about. Jimmy Carl Black, who was the Indian in Frank Zappa & TMI, would get there an hour early. I remember when we opened a tour for The Call, more people in the audience were coming up to Jimmy after the show than The Call. He was all about his drums. Whether we played to thousands or 2 he approached his setting up and playing the same. Also he could swing like all hay and keep it at speaking volume. I have always insisted my drummers be able to do this. that eliminates about 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 999999999999% of them.
