First album with Paul Butterfield Blues Band Big Walter Horton and Cary Bell (Alligator Records) AG:s material here (I like Hilberts guitarplaying) David Barrett has a couple of good jamtracks. Hope this helps!

You could also just get an actual licks CD.
Ronnie Shellist sells blues licks CD's for Beginner's and Intermediates.
Tom Ball also has a book/cd for Little & Big Walter licks and a Sonny Terry book/cd edition.
They're all very good. Tom Ball's material is definitely for more intermediate players though.

I just found a cd that I completely forgot I owned. It's a live recording of Big Walter Horton "Little Boy Blue". He's backed up by Sugar Ray and the Bluetones featuring Ronnie Earl. You only need an A harp to play along, because every song that he plays on is in E. Just Google "Big Walter Horton Little Boy Blue." The man was a MASTER of deep toned blues harp. Check it out. You won't be disapointed.

Hello. One of the best CDs is from Keith Dunn. Its "Alone with the Blues". Good Harp and good Lyrics. Peter

There's quite a bit of tongue-blocked octave playing and advanced timing in Little Boy Blue. I don't know if I would consider it basic beginner's material. You can have a stab at it though. I would buy the tab for the song first to help you out when you can't figure out what Walter's doing.

Hi All: I've always thought of Jr. Wells' cd's "Hoodoo Man Blues" and "Blues Hit Big Town" as the rosetta stone of chi-town harp playing. Fairly simple but classic riffs/licks with Jr's great tone, rythmic staccato playing and it just swings. 2 essential cd's.
