Hey there. Do folks have favorite DVD's of blues concerts or other performances that feature great harp? I'm not talking about UTube videos, but full length concert videos or DVDs that have great harp performances.
It's always a joy and I learn a lot from watching great harp players jamming with the band.

I just saw Carlos Santana plays Blues at Montreaux. It's a bit mellow and jazzy, but fun to play along with in different keys. Very little harmonica but overall a nice concert.
Willie Nelson in Amersterdam is good too. I was surprised that they threw some blues in there. The harp player Raphael looks like he's bored to tears, but he has some good solos and plays both diatonic and chromatic.
Both are good for "virtual" band playing at home.

I bought this video called Gunsmoke that is a film about a Muddy Waters tour in 1971 I believe. While it is not a total harmonica video it does have some awesome footage of Big Mama Thornton and George "Harmonica" Smith in it. It is also just an awesome video - period.

There's a DVD about Howling Wolf that is awesome. Also, the Last Waltz by The Band has Muddy Waters and Paul Butterfield playing on it with and interesting story about Sonny Boy Williamson. I also saw a DVD on John Lee Hooker that wasn't bad. Chipper
