I am having the same problem. I am fine on all holes up to the 6 blow, after that I find it really hard to get a decent sound. I also have the same problem on the high tuned harps. I am fine on C and below, D harps feel a bit tight but I can still get all the bends etc. I have a F and E and I can just about get blow and draw notes but no bends.
I am also a lip purser. Any tips or techniques would be greatly appriaciated.

I've found that its a lot harder to hit high notes if my tongue is higher in my mouth for some reason. Try opening your mouth more and putting your tongue as low as you can while still being able to articulate notes

I find that I have a tendancy to tighten up on those high notes--but that's probably just me because I used to play the flute a long time ago--and you really need to tighten up on a flute to get high But on the harp you gotta just let them notes fly with the same kind of relaxed approach as in the lower notes. Of course I still contend that all holes above 7 are just for either 1) holding onto or 2) showing off or 3) being really cool like Sonny Boy Williamson--but lately I have been finding myself messing around up there when I get a really hot thing going. . .

you should check out gussow's video on youtube, it's like # 13 or something and it talks about harmonica maintenance. basically he takes the covers off the harmonicas, and opens up the reeds a little bit more with a piece of paper. I don't know if it'll help, but you might wanna give it a try.

Try lowering your jaw, move your tongue to the back of your mouth and switch from TA articulation to HA for holes above 6.
