Hello, I am a beginning harp player in Snohomish county Washington, USA. Anyone up for letting me come and watch while they jam with their band on the harmonica? I live in an unincorporated rural area called Machias which is north of the small town of Snohomish. My interests are both the Walter's, George Smith, both Sonny Boy's, James Cotton, as well as some more contemporary folks such as Kim Wilson, John Nemeth, Jason Ricci, Grant Dermody, and Paul deLay (rest his soul). I also enjoy other genres than the blues such as reggae, country, roots, and African music. I enjoy watching the masters and most in between and would like to just catch as many techniques on the harmonica as I can through enjoying other people's musical talents. Lemme know.

Hi Snakes!
Well--I don't have a band or anything--but I do live in Arlington--not too far away. I am a lover of good music in general, and have been playing harp seriously for about the last year. I also play a little guitar and sing with my wife--but I still haven't added much harp to our thing. We sometimes play an open mike at the Shire--a cool veggie restaurant in downtown Arlington--in an old church at the head of the main street--kind of like the old Arlo Guthrie movie--but new age instead of hippie.
Anyway--it's nice to hear that there is somebody up here in the Northwest with an interest in the blues harp!

The open mike is at 7:00 every Wednesday night. My wife and I play sometimes--I have to work and I sometimes can't make it.
If you get a chance to drop in come and say hi--I'm 6 feet 7 inches and I weigh 325 pounds--so I'm kind of hard to miss if I'm there. The name is Ray.

Hey, Snakes!
It was great to meet you at the Shire tonight. I had to get on out early to get ready for work tomorrow--hope to see you there again sometime. . .I really enjoyed the evening--jamming on the harp with Bob on the guitar has gotten to be my favorite part of the thing. . .

Yeah, you were great as was the guitar player. I hope to make it up there again soon (although not this Wednesday as I'll be out of town). Keep it up. I'll bring a harp next time.
