to everyone on the forum. I have been playing the harp for about 1 1/2 years and I simply love it! i live in the not so dirty south in North Carolina.

I hope to learn something from the forum and thanks to Adam for the UTUBE videos! Great stuff.

Harp players are a soulful, generous and eccentric lot.Adam is the best example.
The blues adventure is always an interesting journey.
I've been playing only a few years but just this week I played country blues at a great old bar, was asked to record harp tracks with two different bands and jammed with a Hells Angel pirate from Norway and his band and will be playing with his band tonight.

Enjoy the forum and the journey

Wow that is quite a story about the biker band. Guess I am getting mellow in my old age. Wish I coulda' seen that! Been playin' the harmonica less than a year myself and am in the process of learning tongue blocking. I must say it is a serious stress reliever for me. Has any one read Kim Field's book on the Harmonica called "Harmonicas, Harps, and Heavy Breathers? I highly recommend it as a great read on the history of the harmonica. I am lucky enough to live where I get to see Kim and his band pretty regularly. Actually here in the Seattle area we seem to be blessed with a lot of really good harp men.

Hi Snakes,

Yeah, I have read that book "Harmonicas, Harps, and Heavy Breathers. It was very good.

I am also in the Seattle area--in a sense--actually in Arlington--I think there are a lot of blues lovers here, but I don't know many musicians, but I've only been here for about five years and I don't get around much anymore!

Honeyboy Edwards' book "The World Don't Owe Me Nothing" is a very good read especially if you've heard him in interviews to get his speech cadence down
