Any one used this harp and does the "valved" design make overblows easier.
How does it compare with Marine Band for sound and blues style

hi
i have used the mr350 and really like them...havn,t used the valved model so can't comment on it. started with LO and SP20s
but the mr350 feel and sound so much better to me...worth the extra money, also like bushman delta frost and they are cheaper.
i feel they are better all round than the cheaper MB but i havn't tried the MB deluxe?

Thanks Phil I was interested to understand what exactly the valved version is I know that its not the chromatic type of manual change button. However i tend to use custom made harps which are pricey Do the suzuki play good straight out of the box or do they need tweeking?

Dear Baz,i have 350 v's in A C D&F,they are lovely high quality harps though i personally prefer the MB Delxe because it has that lovely rasping tone, the Suzuki's are a little bright. As far a the valve thing goes,it is just a thin strip of plastic stuck on the rear of the reed plate and it concentrates the air flow to the reed, very low tech but i bought a non reed Suzuki 350 in A by way of comparison and the valved ones deffo play better, hope this helps

The valves allow you to bend all the notes, which is useful but quite different from overblows.

Hi Geordie Thanks for your comments The guy i use www.antonydannecker.com is very good but you have to pay £75 for the top end hand built MB style of harp.Paul Lamb uses them .They are very good.I have a full set but I am always looking for that little bit extra in a harp so all of these comments are very useful.I have also used Honner cross harp /pro harp/special 20s/steve baker specials but find dannekers the best. However i have never had a purpose built MB delux so maybe thats the next move.Check out the web site and let me know what you think
Regards Baz
