I recently downloaded Adams bending lessons and after struggling for a year or two with weak wimpy (particularly the 2 draw) bends I can now hit the full 2 draw as well as snap down to the others much easier and faster. Most of the improvement was due to the "cobra tongue" technique of channeling the air flow. I can hit the bends faster by moving my tongue and jaw rather only my jaw and mouth as I don't have to contort my entire facial skeleton. I am now starting to play many of the lesson tunes as they should be played. With bends.

I would recommend these vid's to anyone still working on their low note bends.

Thanks for all the great lessons Adam

Tweed...What`s up? I`m working the same lessons you are referring to,as amatter of fact, I just finished the 4 draw and 2 draw lessons. For the past two hours I`ve been havin` BIG fun!!! The kaw koo mechanics really helped along with Adams` lenghthy explanation introducing the 4 draw lesson, like you were saying , the cobra tec. Good Teach, huh?

Anyway, my biggest challenge out of all of the 3 lessons is the ability to get all of the notes available on the 3 draw. Have you been working on that or just settling for the blue 3rd and maybe a full step down? Mary had a little lamb, right?

Check out Adams` pard, Jason Riccis` YT vids..He does all 12 bars out of the 3 draw! Pretty tight..What about the Bendometer?

All tips, hints, helps and hand outs cheerfully excepted...

What`s shakin` besides da leaves in da trees...Easy.....

To get all of the pitches on the 3-hole bends, I have been articulating as follows:

3-draw natural - "EEEE"
3-draw (1st bend) - "YOUUUU"
3-draw (2nd bend) - "OOOOO"
3- draw (3rd Bend) - "AWWWW"

You can also start the articulation with a "D" or "K".

It has been working for me. Hope it helps.

Thanks New B those articulations definitely help.

Good input from both of you. As Adam says in his lessons he can give you the technique but the real thing is up to you. Regarding 3 bends or any bends for that matter I usually divide my practice time into two sessions. First the drill. Bends, tongue blocking etc and when I get bored and or frustrated in or about an hour and I switch to Adams lessons or jamming and work the bends, tongue blocking or whatever into the jams. It's one thing to hit a bend when your on the note but another thing to snap to it when your on another note and jamming.

Practice X n

I'm still working on the 3 draw bends and the blue third. I think I'm working to fast or hard, I seem to choke the note altogether before I hear a lower pitch. I don't do the cobra tongue thing very well. I seem to do more of a push my jaw forward action and pull down on the 4 and 2 draw bends. New Bs articulation may help me yet though.
