Hi guys. When i was little, my dad had an old blues song about the devil chasing a man with a pitchfork. It was sung by a blackman with a gravelly voice. The only lyric i can remember was ``he cant run. . . . . He sure cant run` it was a shuffle i think? There was no harp on it but i'm hoping 1 of my fellow blues fans can help me out. Cheers

Try to get a listen to "The Devil Jumped The Black Man" by Lighnin' Hopkins--take a look at the album (a 7-CD set!) at this link on Pandora:
http://www.pandora.com/music/album/lightnin+hopkins/complete+prestige+bluesville+recordings
I think this might do it for you--there is some great backup harp on it--sounds a lot like Dr Ross--but I don't really know.
Lightnin' Hopkins, in my opinion--was one of the greatest and most under-appreciated blues players in history--probably because he was a little hot-headed and he might have innocently kicked the shit out of just about anybody who could have ever helped his career along--but I still love his music. . .
Hope this helps. . .
