I could never bring myself to spend the bucks on a really expensive harp, but a guy I made a harp case for gave me a blown out Meisterclasse to use as a handle on one of my next customized harp case. Is it possible to use the reed plates of a MB on the metal comb?

No, Marine Band plates won't fit. I suppose if you wanted to re-drill and tap them you could make it work. Meisterkleisse is part of the MS system line. The reed plates from a Big River, Blues Harp, or Cross harp will fit it. Also, you can order replacement reed plates for the MS series. Check out ebay, music123, musicians friend, etc. If you already have the metal comb and cover plates, you can get brand new reed plates for about $25.oo.
