Hey guys:
As many of you know, I send out an email to Modern Blues Harmonica customers on an occasional basis--generally when I've just uploaded a new lesson or two. An average of perhaps one or two emails a month.
Rather than BCC the customer list at once, I generally subdivide it, 100 or so at a shot.
Today, for the first time, large #s of emails got shot back, blocked by MSN/Hotmail's spam filter, and several other spam filters.
(I use AOL email, BTW.)
I have a legitimate desire to keep in touch with my customers; I'm not spamming.
So it's time for me to take the next step and look beyond regular AOL email. Can somebody suggest that next step? I guess it would fall under the category of a "business solution." I don't consider myself much of a businessman, just a harp guy trying to provide a service.
Feel free to email me privately at asgussow@aol.com
If you've purchased from me before but didn't get one of my MBH emails today, your spam filter is to blame. Please take a look at "news and updates," where I've also posted info about the new lessons, with links.
Thanks.

Adam,
It would help if you could forward the header info from one of the kicked back emails. If your domain, or someone else on your domain has been added to a spam block list that could be the problem.
Hopefully it can be worked out so we can all continue receiving emails from you!

Well, after consulting with a friend of mine who has a blues-related business, I've decided to use a bulk email company called "Emma." Yes, as a blues guy, it hurt to sign up with a firm whose name sounds like a British nanny. They're a little more professional, frankly, than I am. I'd prefer to keep things homegrown, even semi-illegitimate. But AOL has made that impossible. So onward and upward......

Yes, Adam, I think it is definitely AOL induced. . .I have all of my spam filters turned off with my ISP--and I didn't get an email from you today--and I would like to.
As the spouse of a webmaster--I know that AOL has caused a lot of problems for many people--they apparently try to protect us from ourselves--but, like the cow of Thoreau--they sometimes gore us in their zeal. . .

It's most likely because you use AOL.
Can't you set up an email account associated with MBH.com? I think you will find better results.

Lol!
Get yourself some DVDs of the Avengers with Diana Rigg playing agent Emma Peel. That'll change your mind, Adam!

Radical Methodology--Once again. AOL--Pills and the Sledge Hammer. (Tooey on them.) Maybe some gas and a match too. Everything good becomes too complicated for no apparently good reason, and for some un-Godly reason, the powers that be, (f'in us up) decide it's more fun for them to piss on OUR parade. Go figure. Keep up the great work, Adam. I know you are working hard on this, and I greatly appreciate you efforts. I am sure everyone else on this forum feels the same. Thanks So Much, SJ
