I haven't read all of the responses, but if you want the Little Walter sound their is an amp to use. Ready........Danelectro Nifety Fifety. You can add an effect or two to fatten it up. Like a tube preamp and delay. Now that said for loud situations you have to mike it. I made a box out of plywood that the amp sits in with a hole in the front with thick foam covering the hole. then you stick a mic 58 or 57 and run it thru the PA. The box isolates the sound for miking and keeps out bleed from amps the loud ass guitar player use. I have found that a green bullet is not necessary. I have a shaker. It has a volume control and it is small enough to really cup the harp. Everone has their method. This is mine.

I'm standing up for the fender BJ

Though I am not after a 'dirty sound'

I use a delay pedal and mic thro' pa with an old green bullet. It's best on an amp stand at an angle.
