Hey everyone I was wondering what delay pedal is good. Never used one before. Not sure which to get or if i need one.

On another subject a local blues guitarist asked me to play with him at a local blues fest. I haven't played with anyone before. Were gonna get together and play a couple times before. but any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations!

Start out with low volume and ask your friend to tell you when the level is good. If you are working with an amp, have it turned so he can hear it , but not directly.
Next is fundamental, but always bears repeating:
When your buddy is leading with vocals or solo playing...back off. Play simple fills or repeating melody riffs or just accent toots or nothing at all.

Much of the dynamics will be organic and worked out in practice.

Where is the music festival taking place, and when?
Is it a paid gig? Bring a ducket bucket along anyway ( tip jar ). What do you call yourselves?

Oh, WEAR co-ordinated clothing. They don't have to be matching suits, but it should be compatible. Looks professional and you'll get alot more respect.

a lot of chording would be good as fills and, also, backing. listen to some cephas & wiggins on youtube.

Last year I had tried out some delays at the shops I visit. I found a Guyatone MD-3 MICRO DIGITAL DELAY. I could not pull myself away from this little pedal. It has incredible tone for a digital delay.

I had also tried a Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal. The Echo Park was the better pedal but it was more $$$ and something just drew me back to the Guyatone.

I touted the Lonewolf HarpTone plus pedal a few minutes ago in a post regarding getting the most out of a Pro Junior amplifier. The same harp-centric tech has built a delay pedal that is receiving substantial reviews as being designed strictly with us harp guys in mind. Go to www.lwharpamps.com and check them out. I have no affiliation with the guy, but know folks who have tried his products and are really satified. Anyway--

I would say the Boss DD-6, it is what I use and gives me great delay function without breaking the bank.

I recommend the Lone Wolf Harp Delay from http://www.lwharpamps.com/ .
It's true-bypass and it's designed for harp. I bought the Harp Delay and the Tone+ a week ago and I think they are the best harp effect pedals on the market.

I've been more than happy with my Ibanez AD9 analog delay for years now....

the Roland Micro-Cube has delay or Reverb, and so many mods/effects that it will blow your mind!
125$...easy. I use this to model my power amps. The delay and tremolo make for a chust Chicaga sound. Put on Flange and chorus..you sound like Hendrix.
I put on chorus and heavy reverb for "Ghost Riders".
Sounds like far echo.

Spend 125$...get more than a pedal.

Hey LJS, how did you hook up your MicroCube? I tried hooking up my MicroCube to a 4x10 Bassman by connecting a cable from the headphone jack of the Cube to the imput of the Bassman as if it were an effects box, plugging my mic into the Cube, and I lost all the "oomph" from my sound. Did you do anything different?

bluzlvr: I use procables. The shorter the better. For the mic I have a BluesBlaster ( pre 96 ) with low impedance line transformer.
I tried it hot, but was cutting out constantly.

What are the Ohms on your 4X10 amp? If they are not matched, it could sound like playing in a bathtub.

Hope this helps,

LJS
