Couple of weeks ago I bought a Suzuki Bluesmaster from the USA for $27.75.
Today, same harp from same supplier $37.50.
$10 rise is a bit much. This was from a shop on eBay by the way. Looks like the US prices are going to come into line with UK prices. We always get ripped off over here.

Same here. I have over past 12 months been buying Bluesmasters from the US for around $18US and our A$ was up until a few weeks ago almost on a par with the US$. Prices for Bluesmasters in Australia are ca $38 ie whenever you can find 'em - very poor almost no distribution. Now with the huge US price rises + the fall in our exchange rate + freight costs it is no longer viable to shop on line from the US for harmonicas. I ordered a Bluesmaster in D a week ago from a local retailer and was informed yesterday that the Australian agents were out of stock until November!! I love the Bluesmaster but Suzuki need to lift their game ie appoint a good distributor as I now have to buy LOs or SP20's which are always available.

Everything in the US has become more expensive recently- I'm guessing they're just following the trend. ---------- "Without music, life would be a mistake" -Nietzsche

Hi Salmon,
Suzuki have recently increased their prices.
You really have to look for the right seller on ebay. I just found a guy selling Bluesmasters for $18.95. His ebay tag is soundinvestmentsusa (2035). The only reason I don't buy from him is that his shipping cost to the U.K. are way too high.
The best seller I have found on ebay is bluzerd (991). Contact him by email via ebay and he is very helpful. If he doesn't have the harp you want he will do his best to get it for you. I have just bought a Low F Promaster 350v from him for $43.00. I believe he is a player himself because he said he liked to use a low and high F on the same song. I think his U.S. internal shipping charge is $5.00 (he only charges $8.00 to the U.K.)
If you do contact him mention this website, you never know, if enough people from here use him we might be able to arrange a discount in the future

Thanks for the feedback. I had already checked out soundinvestment and bluzerd on eBay and have bluzerd saved as a favourite. bluzerd has 100% good feedback so I would have no worries dealing with him. Soundinvestment on the other hand has a number of negative feedbacks which would make me a little wary of dealing with them.
Have heard that it is Suzuki who have increased their prices and the dealers are just passing that rise on. Have not had a dud Suzuki Bluesmaster or ProMaster yet so have no axe to grind regarding their quality control but cannot see how they can justify an almost 1/3rd price hike. Metal prices, labour - who knows?

I also got a number of Bluesmasters from bluzerd. Paid $14.95 with $5 shipping. Hopefully, he can keep his prices as they are, but last time I checked they had risen. Supply and demand.

I should have stocked up on Marine Bands when they were $17.00... this is just getting ridiculous. It's $30.00 for one now. Lee Oskar actually got smart and lowered their prices below Hohner's. Too bad I prefer Hohners by a significant margin.
Honestly, though, it's not worth it for me as an increasingly poor college student to buy new harps now. I'm busting out my screwdriver set more often now and just adjusting the cheap ones I have or fixing up my old ones to make them work.
