Any Astatic mic experts out there? I have two JT 30's. One that I bought in 1987 and another that I bought in 1991. The 1987 model sounds great and the '91 model sounds OK, but not nearly as "ballsy" as the other. Something must have changed at the factory during those four years, or maybe the first mic had been sitting in the store for a while. The element perhaps?

Not claiming to be an expert, However I might venture to guess that there may be two different elements. I am looking into investing in this mike here real quick. I have been using a Green Bullet by Shure. And wish to compare the crystal element vs the controlled reluctance type in the GB.
