I had this stainless steel flashlight made by Black & Decker. I thought it would make a good mic. As I took it apart, it got evben better, the plastic piece that was behind the little circle of LED bulbs was a separate piece, perfect for the front endof a mic. Also, when I removed the on/off button that was in the back, it left a hole that was the perfect size for a cable.
As far as the insides...I had a cheap mic at home, but the stuff inside was to big for the flashlight.
While visiting my parents, I found another cheapie mic with the chord cut off (my dad uses it as a prop). I took out the guts, put them into the flashlight, then attached the chord from my own cheap mic.
I really don't know electronics very well, so I was flat out shocked when I plugged it in and it worked.
Here it is.
