Hi guys, I thought about something challenging and interresting. Me and my friend did a modest version of thunky fing and I thought it would be a nice challenge an idea to invite some other harps players to give it a go :)

Just try it. I know it's tricky with some OB stuff but try your best at it !
This song is a very nice practice for breath control, note accuracy, tone from bottom to top of harp etc....
Waiting for some try on it !

It would be fun, but for the time being, I absolutely, for the life of me, I can't overblow. Hopefully I'll learn how to do that soon.

Don't fall for the hype, Grillslinger--overblowing is not possible--it's just a mean joke to keep us beginners in our places. In actual fact, I believe the overblows you think you hear come from a different key of harp, hidden in the folds of the players shorts! ;)
A little more seriously, I recently had a big break-thru on OB--I found that I can actually get the blow reed to choke out now--sometimes I can even get a noise that I call the "oversqueak," but no belly dance music yet. . .I'm still Working on it. . . .

Wow thats great! It was very hard for me last time I tried it but I may try again now that I can play my overblows a bit better. ---------- "Without music, life would be a mistake" -Nietzsche

Just went and listened to your vid, Antoine--good job! I think I'll go back and work on that lesson a bit more--try to tame the wild oversqueak into a note. . .Your efforts are inspiring to me--maybe only younger people can ob??

Great playin man,
I do accept your challenge. Give me some time in the woodshed.
I never intended playing this one, I liked the other Gussow tunes more.
But it's indeed a great exercise and a great song anyway

I'm in too--but I'm gonna work on a version that doesn't need OB's cuz I can't do them--I think my lips are too old!
Why don't we have a "Front Porch Blues" smackdown? Even I can play a large percent of that one!

Adam's Lesson for "Thunky Fing" starts a little over half way through lesson 11 and goes through lessons 12 and 13.
