Hi everyone.
I started playing the diatonic harmonica about 3 weeks ago, and its really fun.
The problem is that when I draw on holes 1,2 or 3 it sounds kinda flat...
I've seen Gussow's video on Youtube on how to adjust the reeds, but I cant manage to remove the steel plates on my hohner blues harp.

The harp I use is this one:

Can someone please tell me how to remove the plates in order to adjust the reeds? I've tried the thing with the knife, but it only bent the plate itself...

Thanks in advance! :)
Preston

You are using a blues harp that has screws holding the cover plate on. Adam's video with the pocket knife is a Marine Band that is nailed together.

Get a small #1 phillips screwdriver and take it apart.

If you aren't very mechanically inclined, I wouldn't open that harp up until you are ready to buy another one. It's best to practice adjustments on old harps until you get good at it.

On another note: if you've only been playing for 3 weeks, those lower holes may sound funny because you haven't developed a good embouchure and tone yet. They may not need any adjustment.
