Looking for help. I am a beginning harmonica player. I don't read music, but I do play several other instruments by ear. I am looking for any info I could use to help me learn to play a simple version of Robert Johnson's song "Crossroad Blues" (a/k/a "crossroads") on harmonica. Has anyone seen anything that could help on the internet? Thanks.

I'd recommend downloading Eric Clapton's version from the "Me and Mr. Johnson" album--then just play it loud on your boom box and jam with it--I think a D harp would do it--but I'm not sure of that--I just grab harps until something sounds right. . .

Oldwailer, Great advice! I love the "Me and Mr. Johnson" cd, and I jam to it frequently. There is no one quite like Eric Clapton. He's so fantastic! And he's a great teacher! Good luck, JohnsonR, and have fun. Carolyn

When I was a solo street harp player in NYC back in 1985-1986, I played Clapton's version of "Crossroads" on harp. (I also play it, passably, on amped up guitar.) I used a D harp, I believe.
I should probably work that up again, shouldn't I? I could tab it out and make a million bucks.

Sounds like a plan. I'll buy it.
