I'm an intermediate player looking for a new mic and amp. Not really sure what I'm exactly looking for in both to get that real "bluesy" type sound. Any suggestions or offers?
Halfway through Adam's book "Mister Satan's Apprentice", got it for Christmas. You should pick it up for a good read, or if ya want a little inspiration.

Addict, I don't know if your on Harp L or not. But Hash Brown recently had all his musical gear stolen from his van. He might really appreciate those harmonicas. Just a thought.
That's awesome, addict! Starting the year out with a good deed. I got the email from a buddy who follows harp-l;I too will see if i can get his contact info(unless Kingley's able to find it first) and maybe send him a care package. I've got several spares he would probably love to have. ---------- ~Todd L. Greene crescentcityharmonicaclub@gmail.com
Here's Hash's post, and his phone number is at the bottom. EDIT:I have his phone number if anyone's interested, but out of respect for his privacy, I have removed it.
Hope this helps. Friends,
I was the victim of theft of musical equipment taken from my van parked in my driveway at my home in Dallas, TX. (sometime after 1am in the morning 12/30) Here is a list of equipment taken, any leads or help finding any or all equipment will be rewarded.

I wanted to give y'all a heads up: I have a friend who asked me to sell his Bahnson Overblow Harmonica to raise some cash for him, and I put it on Ebay. I have it listed under "Bahnson Overblow Haromica" in a 7 day auction.
There are 100 of these harmonicas designed by the late Dr. Bahnson. It is a Golden Melody that has what looks like a chromatic harmonica slide on it, but the slide isolates notes to make it easier to overblow and overdraw.
It is a cool and unique instrument. I am tempted to buy it myself.
There is an article on the harp here: http://turboharp.com/harmonicas_future.asp
i just snatched the "blue devil" from you. i been eyeing that for awhile. do you want me to pay now through ebay, cause it says on your listing dont send payment till you send an invoice? ----------

Rharley, you said you could work on my mic for me? I got a EV664 that I would want chopped, but there would be other like service work too. Its got a lot of pitting on it and no luster, and I think something happened to the Hiz because nothing happens unless I have the switch set to Loz (I think, its not labeled and I don't think its an on/off switch). I don't know anything about circuitry but I would like a volume knob on it rather than or in addition to the hi/lo function switch, is that at all posible? I don't know what would happen to the switch in any event cus I want the base chopped. Could you ballpark an estimate on what I would be paying? My email is walshmatthewj@sau.edu. I'm a broke ass college student, so it may be a while before I can afford sending it to you fyi.
rharley just got the mic today. it plays just a wonderful as it looks. i love it, thanks allot. i like it more then my sm57 an my ev644. i like the spring loaded switchcraft connector too i never seen one like that. ----------
Jon,..Told ya that Mic is the Sleepin Giant of Harp Mics,.Alotta Harp players don't know it,..It is one badazz Mic,..yours is a straight up rebuild,..with the VC an THE 5/8 SPRING LOADED CONNECTOR,..Yea those connectors are rare & badazz. hmmm...im thinking about selling my ibanez 7 string guitar. RG series. not sure if i want to really but i want to buy an amp so if any ones interested let me know. $700. $800 with case. both are in MINT condition. ill post pics later. ----------
I'm still on the prowl for a shell for a Unidyne III element.
I know, I know...Greg Heumann could set me up ASAP, and if I make some buku $$$ I will avail of that. I can customize on mine own, and have a buddy that does the wildest knife finishes that would be incredible for harp mics! Have been waiting on another pal that says he has an empty shell with the transformer that he'll trade for tubes.
I've got a very cool vintage EV676 microphone. This mic dates to about 1963. A harp playin' friend of mine gave it to me because it was missing its connector(which would have been an old 4-pin anyway.) I fitted a screw-on connector to it and set it up for high-Z operation. The low frequency cut switch still works. It sounds cool!
I want to sell it and give this guy the $$ because he needs it. (It will be a surprise to him.) And I don't feel like going to the work to eBay it if I can avoid it so I'm offering it here at what I consider to be a very fair price. First person to offer $89 (+ $8.50 shipping in the U.S.) gets it.
I have a very clean older Shure green bullet for sale with a very healthy 99B86 036 CM cartridge, Switchcraft screw-on connector, 200 bucks. Nice all original paint with a couple minor scuffs, perfect grille. Please contact me through my website if interested. Joe Spiers
DH: What was the price of that 4 times 8'' SJ. I didn't know he ever made them that speaker light. What's the weight? Hows the projection with a full band without miking? d
$895.00 plus whatever the shipping will be. Sonny Junior I (1) 5Y3 (2) 6L6’s (2) 12AT7’s Output: 25 Watts Dimensions: 22"(W) x 23"(H) x 9.5"(D) Weight: 42 lbs. Four-eight inch Pyle speakers True speaker-sounding line out capability Amp has a tremendous, full, thick tone Padded Tuki cover included
Straight-up the projection is strong, providing the other players don't go nuts. If that's the case, hook up the line-out and let it rip.
I believe the Sonny Junior II was 6x8 and what ever tubes Gary decided to use at the time.

So (and forgive me but this is my unemployment bartering) as it feels icky to bargain but: any interest in trading to reduce the price or trade outright. Items available. Model 2 Kalamazoo with 3 pronged cord and Jensen special edition speaker in fab shape. POG (originally owned and signed by Chris Micheleck that was serviced by my tech (reciept available): I did use a marker on the face for my settings! Premier model 50 from the late 50's with a 3 pronged cord. And a very coveted Rocktron (an original black one-not the resissued blue one) in perfect shape. The only item I have to check the integrity on is the iconic Premier which i have not played in about 6 months. While I'm not looking to sell these items per se i do need another performance amp somewhere between my big gigging Magnatone with a 15'' and my smaller Premier twin 8'' with a 12'' speaker. But with 15 month old twins, unemployement, etc. etc....... fyi- yodennis@verizon.net ---------- Myspace: dennis moriarty
Vintagage Turner Harp Mic ,..Chopped w/ shure ceramic element ,.. ebay item #110487442287 Message Me with an offer ?? See my other mics & elements for sale also !!
Okay everyone, here goes my first attempt at selling something! I want to sell off my little pignose 7-100 (it's the small, "suitcase" style, battery operated, 7-100). Why? Well, I just got a Digitech rp155, and I need a little CLEAN battery amp now. The piggy has a GREAT dirty tone, but it's not the right amp to use with a modeler like the RP155. So I want to buy a clean battery powered amp like the micro cube or something else in that range for my street playing, but I first gotta sell the pignose so I can afford it!
So here's the deal. You can get a brand new pignose 7-100 for about $80. I'm selling this one for $75, AND I'm including the proper proprietary pignose wall power supply, which is an EXTRA item that normally sells for $15 to $20. The wall supply lets you plug the amp in so you don't have to go through so many batteries when you are just playing it at home or in a venue with a power plug option. So, IMO that seems like a pretty good deal, and I'm only offering it to you guys here on the list. If no one here wants it, then I'll list it at $85 on craigslist. :) But I'd really like to keep it in the harmonica family!
It works very well, has only some minor cosmetic wear and tear, and has a mildly scratchy volume pot (which isn't a nuisance since you mainly just dial in a spot and leave it there. The amp is turned on and off by plugging in your 1/4" mic cable, not by rotating the volume knob.)
Shipping in the US will be $10.70 (assuming it'll fit in the medium flat rate box, which it SHOULD do), and optional insurance would be $2.25 more. So the total price with shipping included would be $85.70, or $87.95 with insurance too.
I'd accept payment by "personal transfer" on paypal, or, if you are long-time member of this forum and I know you, I'll accept a check in the mail (But I'll still have to wait till it clears the bank before shipping). If you are interested in it, contact me at my e-mail address: ullah [AT] archaeologist [DOT] com
If you want, I can post some pictures of the amp and a video of me playing through it....
