I am pretty much a beginner, but I've been playing a C Hohner Blues Harp for a couple of months and can bend the 2, 3, 4 draw pretty easily. I just got a D Marine Band and the 2 draw is very hard, 3 draw and 4 draw are still pretty easy. Are D harps known to be like this - 2 draw harder than a C or others? Thanks.

The higher or lower you go in harp keys, the more difficult they are to play.

The high harps definitely take more precision and finesse to get your bends correct. And the low harps take a lot more breath. But all of the harps have sightly different bending angles it seems. You have to play all of the keys on a regular basis because they're all a bit different.

Thanks. By higher keys, you mean C being the lowest (bottom) of the scale?

Discounting Special tunings (Low F and below and High G and above) the standard range for harps goes from G (lowest) to F# (highest).

Most companies make a Low F and High G; Seydel go right down to Low Low F and High Ab and High A

Crazylegs, no C is spot in the middle.

By low I mean Bb, A, G and if you like Dennis Gruenling you can go much lower than that with Low F, Low D...

I play G, A and Bb so much that I kind of perceive C being a high mid-range harp.
