It's at the Triple Door across from Benaroya hall on Union in downtown Seattle. Got my tickets, too. Is on Monday and Tuesday. The show starts at 7:30 so should be done before 10:00.

OK Nick--I'll give a report after I see the show. I expect it to be great.
Life seems different--a load lifted off--I went to an Eric Bibb and Ruthie Foster concert last night--no harp--but the music was really incredible and the feeling in the theater was light and hopeful--
I'm feeling hopeful that things will change for the better. Maybe I'll even be able to afford more harps!

oldwailer, I haven't seen Eric Bibb, but Grant plays with him on occasion and I've a CD of his which I really enjoy. I did see Ruthie Foster at the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland this year and she is incredible. No harp I know, but incredible.

Well, last night was the big show and I'm still in awe of these great harpers! If there was a 'worst' player, I guess it would have been Lee Oscar--who has been nominated for the rock hall of fame--he's just a different style than the rest--still great in his own right.
The outstanding player of the night--in my mind--was Rick Estrin. I am ashamed to admit that I was not familiar with his music before now--and he is really something--here is a clip from the YT if you need to hear what he's like--there are a few more there too--make sure to hang in there for the last couple of minutes--that's when it gets really incredible.

Mark Hummel is a master--definitely world class.
Of course Magic was great--he said he had never done much blues in his career--but, if there is a contest where playing Sonny Boy Williamson II style in a new era--my money is on the Dick. He is an original, for sure--but it seemed to me that he has definitely been in the woodshed with Sonny for some time. One acoustic solo he did was just wonderful. He ended off with Wammer--naturally.
Mark and Rick both did some playing on the big Chro's--makes me want to go out and buy one--but wait--I don't really play the diatonic that well yet--maybe that can wait.
The show ended in the expected way--all four of them getting up to trade licks--way outrageous!
All in all, a great night--don't miss any chances to see this show if it comes to your area.
On the side--there was a guitar player there named Rusty Zinn who was really excellent--I learned a thing or two from just watching his hands.
The keyboard and drummer and bass were also great--but I don't remember the names. Lee brought on his own sax player and he was wonderful too--playing some licks in unison with Lee--great sound. . .
