I searched the forum and didn't see this posted anywhere.
This website, http://openmikes.org/, is create to find a place to play at an open mic night.
Of course it's only list locations who participate on this website.
If you know of any that are not listed, tell the establishment about this website.

Open mikes or musical showcases are great! I've done some of them - not in the blues genre, but in the classical/popular "strolling" genres. They were very well attended. Everyone gets a certain amount of time. If there are many people, then you usually only get a few minutes, so it's important to pick the stuff you do best and show yourself off as best you can. Also, there was very excellent talent at those I attended. All professionals, and I really wouldn't say it was competitive, but you could feel it in the air that they were all trying to give knockout performances. And quite often these open mics can lead to other gigs and opportunities, many of which will be paying. And you meet great people, sometimes celebrities, and make fabulous connections, and we all know how important connections are in the musical profession. Carolyn

Open mic listings on web sites or local newspapers etc are good, but need to be kept fresh and up to date.
The amount of pubs, where most open mics happen, which are closing every week due to the current financial crisis, here in the uk, is considerable.
So in general the live venues are decreasing which is worrying, and I have turned up for advertised open mics to find they cancelled or closed and the paper wasent told.
So check out a venue before leaving to play to avoid dissapointment.
