I have been looking over UT for some harp lessons. I need some basic terms explained, and I need them explained in the most basic of terms. I have been making noise on my C harp for a few months now and I think I am ready to start making music. Can anybody point me in a direction that worked for them. Thanks in advance.
Don AKA (I'm still looking for my super cool harp nick name)

AKA isnt a horrible harp name. but i have seen it on lots of flyers usually posted in police stations. i guess they are big fans of the blues.
try jon gindick's book- rock and blues harmonica.

Try this web page
http://www.riccardos.org/harmonicas/theory/positions.shtml
The first section gives a basic explanation of harmonica positions. Second position and cross harp are two names for the same thing.

DavidC, That website (Ricardo's) is very informative. Thank you for sharing that.
Merlin, I am a newbie too. Picked up the harmonica after turning 50. So I guess there are only certain facets to my newbie comment given my age... Good luck and enjoy. As for a nickname with a monicker like Merlin you should be called the wizard.
