I decided to start experimenting with cups and other things that I could use with harmonica.
I've heard of playing into mugs, which produces a sweeter tone, cans, which seydel includes with the big six, and beer glasses. During my experiments, I noticed that a disposable plastic cup makes the harp sound a little more crunchy.
Does anyone know of any other interesting things people use with harmonica? As an amateur jazz trumpet player and fan, I'm curious about the sound with plungers (trumpets use plunger mutes), and (this is kind of random) I'm also wondering how harp would sound if played into a kazoo.

It also sounds a lot crunchier when played into a bottle of Gordon's Gin--the sound gets real good when the bottle gets down to about half full. . .

I'll drink to that!! Have tried the mug with the harp but find that it produces a much better sound to me ie after recording it sounded so much better with normal hand cupping.

I just tried it. It worked for me. None the less, go to Christelle's UT site and search her video for "Bix Six - Big Sound Test Drive" http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=christellester&view=videos
