What do you mean the price was right? I've been looking for the cheapest price on the new Fabulous diatonic. The cheapest I've found is $192. How were is prices compared to typical online retailers?

This is getting silly. Bushman, Suzuki, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Pampers... it doesn't really matter. ADAM'S MADE THE RULES CLEAR.

Well yeah, I was going to mention, I've just inherited $10,000,000 (harmonica content: so I can get those Dylan spit harps now) but I need someone with a US bank account to transfer the money into and I'll split the money 50/50... so... just send me your account details please.

SERIOUSLY: The rules are clear on advertising. Can we keep this great forum Spam free please?

Whoa! Chill! Fredrider isn't a spammer. He might not be aware of the rule. He's been on this forum since day 1,I believe.

I'm not saying the intention of the OP was to spam - I just don't want to see the forum degenerate to the point where we have to wade through the "Special Offers" to find the legitimate discussion. First it'll be harp related, but if unchecked it could end up with all the cr@p that ends up in our email inboxes.

Anyone who's followed the most recent postings ought to be aware of Adam's rule. There is a specific thread for buying and selling and that thread is for non-corporate trading only. Adam pays for this forum, gives away his expertise and charges peanuts for some amazingly informative bits and bobs. Out of courtesy and gratitude we should respect his wishes.

Imagine you go to a friends house, they feed and entertain you and share their beer with you. In return you flypost ads all over the front of their home.

I don't want Spam anymore than you do,but your definition of Spam must be different than mine. I don't see anything wrong with forum members posting where they got the best deal on a certain brand of harp. We don't have companies and venders blanketing this forum, its all been members(so far). As someone else mentioned, Adam needs to lock those three subjects at the top to keep it orderly. I know FredRider. I traveled 250 miles to a Adam Gussow harp clinic he helped organize. He showed me the greatest hospitality in a city I didn't know. Please, let's have some civility for our fellow forum members.

This will be my last comment on this. I'm bored of the discussion and want to get back to talking harp.

And for the record I don't think I have been anything but civil. If I have offended anyone I apologise.

The board has been spam free so far... mostly, but let's not let it slip in by the back door. Post those "great deal" type threads and I guarantee we'll have commercial vendors posting under the pretence of just being an average Joe harp player. I've seen it happen on moderated forums, so in an unmoderated (mostly) environment like this it could easily become a problem. The economic situation isn't good, so "free" advertising for struggling music retailers will be hard to resist.

Adam has made the rule in an attempt to keep the board free of corporate advertising, other than the single Hohner banner that helps finance it. Personally I believe we should respect his wishes.

I agree those 3 trading threads should somehow be highlighted, but they are still restricted to non-corporate trading so it's an academic point.

This is a great new forum, but an unmoderated forum has to be self-policing. I don't want to be a policeman, just a law abiding citizen.
