Anyone listening to anything like this???

I have always been first & foremost about the blues, blues rock etc but I have always had a place in my heart for this kinda music- Which I am not sure there is a real specific name for, other than what I put in the title.... ):>~

This link is a great example.... & they are from Slovenia...

Mark Knopfler (The Notting Hillbillies, DIre straights)are some later/other examples of what the origanal surf bands orignated. (ventures, altantics, Duane Eddy, Link Wray, and Santo and Johnny, the Surfaris, Dick Dale and the Del-Tones, the Challengers & Bo Diddley all played a part...

Anything new on harp???

Just watched this video. Pretty cool. Reminds me of when M-TV was worth a shit, and actually played music videos. But that was a LONG time ago. There is some pretty cool stuff going on in other parts of the world, and I enjoy something at least different if not exactly innovative. Like my old friend Jimmy always said, "I'd rather listen to a bad recording of some good music than listen to a good recording of some bad music." Thanks for turning us on to the link.

Some whistling: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VSqRlXm5ns8

Almost sounds like one of those strange spaceage instruments you play by waving you hands in front of it...

You mean a Theramin. What a great instrument! You can get it to sound like a harp too and if you've got good hand control (or parkinson's disease) you can also get a great vibrato.

(Apologies to anyone suffering from parkinson's disease by the way)

Wow that is a pretty eerie sound.....lol

Peter, Bjorn & John - ""Young Folks"" is a song I heard about a year or so ago & I really liked the whistling in it... Although not blues the whistling was very reminiscent of that "unknown sound" that touches something deep in my memory....

Check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51V1VMkuyx0
