Does anybody use the Turbo Lids? Would you recomend them? Do your harps still fit in your case after installing them? (I have one of the Hohner cases that the harps fit pretty snugly into.)

I have a couple of them..... they give a different Warmer tone to my spec 20's the low keys and due to the design you don't have to worry about picking them up backwards.. the different colors help with the different keys assignments too...... Wish they would fit my Lee Oskars though but they say that it requires too much of a design change on the turbo lids to accomodate the LO's

The turbo lids:
Pro: very smooth on the lips, quick to open and tweak your reeds
Cons: Will NOT fit in a snug form fitted harp slot, pretty fat on the low end, so you may not like the feel of it compared to a uniform thickness harp.

I use them for the same reasons as SUNDOG. Plus, I think the wider profile forces your mouth open a bit more which is good for tongue blocking. Once they are moist they slide really easy as well.

I bought one to try and it seemed to muffle the harp and it was impossible to seal my hand cup around the harp because it's so large. I don't see how anyone could do it. They seem misguided. Colorful but misguided.
