Hi everyone

Just a short question here: I ordered a few harps at www.harpdepot.com. After I placed the order the homepage was gone for a few days and now I'm not able to contact those guys by eMail.

Another site reported some rumors about Harpdepot going out of business. Does anyone know if they are still operational? Any chance I'll get my harps?

Cheers

An undated post on harpdepot.com claims they're not going out of business but they had web host problems. The website works for me right now. (1:52pm Pacific January 5, 2009).

A current whois shows the domain still exists and doesn't expire until January 2015: http://whois.domaintools.com/harpdepot.com

Best of luck on the harp acquisition!

Lets hope the best. Until now I was really very satisfied with the service at Harpdepot. Fast and reliable.

Fingers crossed.

I had excellent service from Harp Depot, but once after ordering their website went down but the harps turned up 3-4 days after ordering. On one occasion I had need to contact them by phone re a problem with a new chromatic harp. They were very helpful. I noted their phone contact as (740) 3820770.

Hope this is of assistance.

Hmm ordered my harps in December last year. The money has been withdrawn from my credit card but it has been impossible to reach Harpdepot since then. They don't pick up the phone (thx Aussie for the phone number) and they don't answer emails. Oh and no sign of my harps. Very nice I must say...

DaDoom,

Contact your card company & have them remove the charge since there were no services rendered by the company. You dont have to pay for something you ordered offline and havent received.

Sounds like thats 2 online harmonica companies with bad customer service. After finally getting my most recent order cancelled I went to a nearby store and picked up a harmonica in the key I wanted. Just another reason to be a hohner-man, convenience of them being at a store if they sell any professional makes.

Hey Ryan

I contacted the cc-company today. Too bad it has to end like this. Some people just don't seem to like doing business :)

What's the other rotten apple you mentioned? I plan to place my order somewhere else. Is coast2coastmusic ok? Haven't found any ratings on them.

Theres a slightly older thread asking where people shop for harmonicas. Maybe check that out first. I recommend calling coast2coast to make sure they have what you want to order before ordering at their site. They seem to be out of stock on a lot of harmonicas and dont indicate which ones. Then they assume you want to wait on backorder for a month or more but, I didn't.

I think theinstrumentstore.com actually indicates if an item is in stock or not but I havent ordered from them yet.

I've ordered from the instrument store (through their Amazon.com store front tho), and Have had nothing but ridiculously great service from them. Not only were the prices plus shipping extremely reasonable, but the order processing and shipping times were extremely fast! I've gotten harps from them in as little as three days from when I placed the order online. They were much faster than other online retailers I've used, and, while this may be a pure coincidence, the harps I got were all top notch (no "duds")!
