One Of my biggest fans (my wife) got me a Crystal Ball about a year ago,I think from Kevin Harps not cheep. No longer open! It looks like a crome JT-30 but sounds like crap,I use 545SD & 520DX threw a Harpgear Double Trouble, they sound fine until I plug in the crystal ball!! I check the element out it just says made in Japan, not a 151 or 127? Can someone tell me something about this mic..

It sounds like it's based on the modern JT-30/Bluesblaster - right down to the new Japanese crystal (to get a genuine 151 or 127 nowadays you're looking at well into 3 figures).

If it is, you'll need to make sure you're using the correct cable. A standard XLR to Jack lead wouldn't work, on a Bluesblaster Pin 3 is the signal pin, as opposed to pin 2 on a standard XLR configuration. Simple soldering job on your mic cable should do the trick - open up the XLR and swap the pin 2 and 3 wires - alternatively get a Hohner Bluesblaster cable.

I'm not familiar with this mic, so I can't be 100% sure.

OK, I GOT THE BLUESMASTER MIC FOR CHRISTMAS. WHAT ELEMENTS SHOULD I LOOK FOR TO RETROFIT THIS MIC? I THOUGHT I NEEDED A 99B86.
