I know this may sound corny, but my cat Misty of 16 years died this week and she use to hang in the yard at nite (curled at my feet) whiled I played to the moon. Please go to the following Youtube link and watch the song I made up for her.I know she was getting weak a few weeks ago and we spent more and more time in the nite yard together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58F00cEWo4k&feature=channel

Sorry about your loss. I just put down my 12 year old dog last Tuesday. He had lymphoma and went down hill very quickly. I don't know if I could do him justice with a song. You did a very nice job.

Nice playing, Steve--I love the sound of a low D--I just got me one about two weeks ago--very nice.
I had to put down my dog of 14 years about two months ago--I still can't always get through "Amazing Grace" without thinking of him--and losing it a lot of the time. You have my condolences. ---------- Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. --Red Auerbach

Great song Steve, Lost old Charlie Boy, my 17+ year old Spitz in September 2007. Almost deaf and blind from cataracts. Only about 5 teeth left, but he tore a hole in a Possum's chest for trying to eat his food a couple of months before I found him at the bottom of the pool. I would like to think he had a heart attack and fell in there. Got a new Miniature Pincer I would not take a chunk of gold the same size as him for in exchange. He is much more important to me than MOST people except for my family. Wives and Girlfriends come and go, but our animals give unconditional love no matter what stupid things we may do. I talked about the low key harps on another thread, and I just have to have one! Thanks for the song. I felt it Man! Good Memories and Condolences too, SJ

Thanx everyone for the kind words, man, how nice of ya'll to share your losses too.My kids have long since moved out but I am still VERY close with them . Misty was born from a stray cat that my daughter Kate(she is 21 years old now) tamed when you she was a little girl. But my cat Misty followed me around doing chores, mowing grass, making hiking sticks and canes, she was not afraid of loud noises or me using saws, she was so much like a dog.
Can't tell you the nites we spent in the yard together with me playing the harmonica and her loving every second of it.I am ashamed to say it,but I have lost a relative or two that did not hit me nearly as hard.Just this month I have started to recover from a life threatening illness that I thought was going to take my life but things are healing and I hope to make a full recovery .Now,things that use to upset me(mean people and words) go thru like butter,I try to lift people up around me and breath every breath a little deeper and sweeter.
We never know how MORTAL we are until death is at the door, and when we dodge it,we need to learn from it and drink every drop of life with zest and show kindness to our fellow men/women and the little pets that love us so unconditionally.Guys,I have hung out at biker bars in my bands and done all kinds of crazy stuff, but after getting over being sick and the loss of my cat, well, life is so sweet but it hurts even worse now when I see humans/wildlife and my pets lose theirs.
Thanks to all of you, play those harps boys and girls like there is no tomorrow. Best Your friend Steve Harvell http://bluzharp.tripod.com
