I looked in the cupboard where i keep my old harp stuff and saw the XB 40 i bought when they were first issued by Hohner some years ago, with a considerable amount of hype and at quite a price.
I asked myself why am I not playing it? So I tried it again and the sound is just wrong?? It's not sweet and round; its more thin, reedy and metallic. It's difficult to put into words..maybe it's me being fussy subjectively.
My question is: Does anyone play the XB40 now and do they like the sound?

Hi,I bought one of these as well coz of the hype and then regretted it,Fist off it was massive,It felt like i was playing a Cornish Pasty! I couldn't get a good tight cup round it even though i have big hands and the thing whent flat on the 4 hole draw after a few weeks, Which is a bit crap coz let's face it if you buy a harp designed for bending you're gonna be hitting those draw holes a lot, My advice would be Don't Believe the Hype
