wonder what died on the 600? do you know a decent amp tech who could trouble shoot it and repair it?

i have not heard anyone say they really liked the hoodoo amp, the impression i got was, it's a more or less clone of the epi valve junior. why not get an epi and a small extension cab? i have blown through one and it has great tone and decent volume to boot. a 2x10 cab is wht my friend has and it sounded dang good!

are you working with a full band? seems like the 600 or most of the smaller amps have to work harder when a drummer and electric guitar are in the mix. i know my small tube amps over the years have had to be miced off usually, and i could seldom really hear my own self playing on stage. i got lucky and got a replica '59 bassman last year for big venues/electric bands. to me, saving up for a quality amp is always better than settling for a chinese made cheep copy of the real deal.

Yes i am in a full band and the champ is having a hard time i miked it thru the PA .But last saturday it didn't power on on the sound check .I am sure i could get someone to fixit, but i just saw an opportunity for me to maybe by a new one :)
I am interested as well in the "black heart little giant" but i don't know if the speaker have small magnet .

I agree with jbone - go for the Bassman

If I think how much money I wasted tryng other amps, thinking I could make do with cheaper. I bought a big Fender solid state amp - it couldn't get the sound. I bought various little valve amps but they needed micing into the PA and that was just a feedback nightmare! I spent a second fortune on little boxes to tame the feedback...

Then I got an ebay bargain on a replica Bassman. Tone, volume and best of all NO FEEDBACK!

A new Hoodoo isn't cheap - I bet you could bag a 59 reissue for not much more than you'd play for a new Hoodoo.

I have too many toys!!!! I've talked to a few people that aren't happy with the 59 re-issue something about the rectifier and it's pc board not point-point. The Old ones lasted forever but I don't know if you have the same with newer. Quality ain't what it used to be.
I've got modded Epiphone VJr's and Bogen Challengers but I'm thinking about a Sonny Jr Cruncher or the HarpGear35 for my next stage amp
