Bit of a shameless plug here and I've left the same info on Harmonicaspace too.

The end of last year the famous Heathcote Blues Jam in Leytonstone closed after some difficulties with the pub management. The jam had been going for 5 years and was something of an institution.

Now thanks to the hard work of hosts Steve and Terry a new venue has been found and the jam will open on Feb 11th 2009 in the Coach and Horses pub in Leyton High Road E10, and every wednesday night thereafter.

The jam starts at 08:30 and entrance is £2 for listeners and £1 for jammers.

If your in the London area please come along to listen or play with some of the best blues artists in the London and Essex area.

The jam also has it's own website where they show videos, host photos and play mp3s of that nights show.

Hope you're ok with me leaving this Adam.

Next time I'm back home in the UK, I'll try to make it down there!

Funny with a handle like Oisin i presumed you were Irish.

You presumed right Johnster. I came to visit my mates at college 20 years ago and never returned home.
Let me know if you're over this way and we can try and meet up at the jam. I'm not kidding when I say it's the best in London!!

Aha, thought so mate. I'm from Cambridge originally, my father is from Rush County dublin, spent many summers over ther.

I will definitely let you know, when I'm back over, hopin to make it back for Xmas this year.

Be great to come along, I'm still very much a beginer, well maybe advanced beginner, been messin with the harp for 3 years now.

I'm going to tell my nephew about the jam, he lives in the smoke, studying music there right now, I'm sure he would like to attend too.

Thanks for the heads up mate!

I'm in Camberwell, so I'm not likely to find myself in E10, but I'll keep you in mind!

Andrew...I live in Leigh on Sea near Southend and drive up here every fortnight (I work shifts) so you are actually nearer to it that me!! Come along and you won't be disappointed. Check out this link for some examples of the quality Blues you'll hear at this place. There's even a couple of me in there somewhere (not saying I'm quality though);
