Can dynamic microphones work on the computer? I was wondering if I bought a mic for the amplified sound, would I also be able to use it on my computer for quick-recording, and even things like chatting on skype?
I ordered a Bottle O Blues, but I'm thinking of also getting a Green Bullet or something else -- either way, this question applies. Anyone know?

Hi oda, Russ here. Thats exactly what I do and if you buy a 1/4 jack female to 3/16th male adaptor you can plug your harp mic into your sound card. Then you can have fun with the sound card features delay reverb etc. If you use it on skype though its seems to mute the mic as soon as you connect so you think that its not working. look out for that one. Sorry I missed you on skype earlier I guess thats what you wanted to sort out.

another opinion
Bottle of Blues adn Green Bullet are not my first choice for good audio ( for skype ). I have been surprised at how good the $10 computer mics are for audio. So I say, get a dedicated mic that you can leave hooked up all the time. I Skype with my monitor's built in mic. You know it's not a top notch mic, but it does fine. I use it a lot with AP Tuner to check my harp's pitch.
