I've practiced this cool special effect without any inprovement for a while.
Ok lets be honest... I have practiced this but not that much. But It's becuase everytime I try it my jaw moves all around.
For those of you who might be unfamilur with what I'm talking about, Dr. Gussow talks about this technique in his lengthy Whammer Jammer instructionals. Its when you wag your tongue over 3 or 4 holes rapidly to get a crazy beautiful warble type sound.
I want that!
Dammit... santa missed my house or I was bad cuase I asked for it for Christmas. Too much Whiskey and Women I guess.
Any help from my fellow harp maniacs out there?
Tips?
I thinking this will help me with my lady friends as well... Little double bonus...

I can't move my tongue that fast, so I just tongue block and move the harp back and forth real fast, and it sounds the same to me....

Chowda,
In that Magic Dick interview that you can download from this site, Adam asks MD how he does that, and it's not from side to side, but back and forth.
I'd bet anyone a zillion bucks that no one could tell the difference anyway, except for your lady friends. But seriously, you don't have to move your jaw at all; just mess around with the angle of your tounge, and the tone will change. ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

Also rememeber what MD says: - the harp doesn;t even have to be in your mouth when you practice articulations. try practicing it in your free time - just make sure you're not staring at anyone when you do it....

I believe Magic Dick uses an in and out tongue placement/unplacement on the 4 draw instead of a tongue swish. I use the swish. its much easier. but i should probably learn the in out method like dick says. Check out his interview with Adam......
