I am looking for very basic jam tracks to help me learn to keep time and improv, I have purchased both the Charlie Hilbert and the Hills Brothers albums. Hilbert's tracks are very song specific and the Hills Brothers are quite complex. Both seem like fine products, at my level I have a hard time keeping up with both.
I'm looking for basic repetitive shuffles in varying tempos with no vocals, bridges, fill, etc. preferably in the same key. I know that sound boring. I'm not looking for exciting, just something repetitive so that when I loose the beat, I can just wait for the turnaround and jump back in. Any suggestions?

I like Jon Gindick's Rock-N-Blues Harmonica CD. It has a basic twelve bar blues jam track throughout it, but you can turn the fader to the left speakers only and it takes out his vocals/harp instruction. But it is the same song over and over for about 40 minutes. It isn't a series of jam tracks. I don't know if that is what you are looking for or not.

Loads of free stuff like this on the net.
Do a google search for "back-up tracks" or "jam tracks".
If you have a few bucks, I highly recommend David Barrett's "C Harmonica PlayAlong Trax", available here...

Some good downloads here for only a few bucks. I have them and use them. I also agree RockN Blues is a really good bokk / cd. A little silly, but I think he had fun writing it.

I maintain the site for The Harmonica Club of Huntington, WV. either www.theharmonicaclub.com or www.hhcwv.com , either will take you there.
There is a Jam Track page that has some basic blues progresions in G for your C harp. I made them all with Band in a Box, so it does sound kinda like a machine. Butit has helped my a lot with developing my I, IV, V grove.
We also record our weekly get togethers. There are several recordings that are about an hour long, where you can play along with the gang. You'll hear a mix of straight harp , cross harp. It's all beginer and intermediate level. Mostly with a C harp, sometimes a G (for the minor tunes in 3rd position), and an A, well,OK occasionally an F also ( but never Bflat !!). Those recordings are under the PLAY ALONG WITH US link. I'll warn you that some of it is very amature, but we have fun every Tuesday night.
