Yesterday night, i figured out that i can bend the 4 overblow 4 semitones up on my SP20 in C... But now, i wondered, if there's any use of overblow bends? Does anyone use them while playing?

You could just bend the note right up to the 5ob and then take it up from there. Or you could use it in your normal playing instead of the 5 blow and draw and give it some funky bends/wails.

no can't do it myself, but would looooove to! damn, damn.

The 6-hole OB is much like the 3-hole draw in second position. (also, in the top octave in first position, the 6-hole OB is useful)
(I can bend the 4-hole overblow up 5 semitones on a GM in C, but you aren't going to see it because I haven't got a camera)

I'm pretty hopeless on a MB, though. Yes, I've just tried a couple. 1 semitone on the Bb. On the D I can get greater range, but not all the intermediate notes!

I often bend the OBs as an ornament or bluesy inflection

Seeking Clarification - when you guys talk about bending the overblow up 4 semis, are you talking about 4 semitones above the original blow note on the blow reed? i.e. a six hole ob on a c harp going all the way up to B from G (4 semitones), which sounds plausible, or are you saying you are bending the overblow up 4 semis from B flat (up to a D), which seems a little less likely?

4-hole on a GM in C, I can bend the overblow (Eb) up five semitones to the Ab.

The technique is to relearn the overblow so you can do it with the tip of your tongue touching your lower front teeth and the middle/back of your tongue hard against your soft palate.
(when I first learned to overblow it was with the whole tongue pulled way back)
Then you raise the middle/front of your tongue and push it forwards with the tip of your tongue pressed very hard against your lower front teeth.

For clarification, I was talking about 4 semitones up from the regular overblown note. In C, 4 OB is Eb. I reach a point where i get a G with the bend... :)
