I thought you guys might get a kick out of this, Back in the old days i was a big fan of a bunch of local boys from Blyth (5 miles up the coast from my home town) called the BLUES BURGLERS me and my mates used to go all over to hear them play. They had oustanding everything,Vocals Geetar Drums and especially Harp played by a very young and very talented Paul Lamb, My best mate worked with the geetar player so i had an in and i made full use of it and got to be almost a mate and enjoyed many a lively piss up with Lamby and the boys. I was asked to design a band poster for them which i did and it was very popular (they always got nicked by the punters) so consequently i never managed to hang on to one for myself, 30 years later i was talking to a harp player who does some teaching and it turned out during the chat that he was the guy who took the gig off Lamby! and bugger me he has one of my origonal posters which he had found the day before i rang him whilst sorting through some band stuff!, How spooky is that! It's a funny old word sometimes innit!

Hey Geordie ...isn't it a small world? I have recently had a similar experience with the great Steve "West" Weston. My old harp teacher used MBs which Steve had customised and told me if I ever got a chance to buy some of them from him. This was about 4 years ago. As I was just starting out on harp I tended to ignore alot of his advice as I hadn't a clue about harps, amps mics etc...I just wanted to be able to play like my teacher. Anyway in 2007 I moved from London to Leigh-on-Sea, a small seaside town near Southend. At my usual jam I got talking to another harp player and he told me that Steve lived in Leigh on sea and I'd also been told this by another UK player (Kingley) 0n Harmonicaspace. Well a couple of weeks ago I looked him up on myspace, got a contact number and phoned him up. Turns out he live 2 streets away from me! I booked a lesson with him and sat for an hour with my bottom jaw on the floor...what an incredible player, and not just on harp. While I was there he bashed out a few tunes on the piano which he recorded and then played the harp along with. He also explained 3rd position to me so now i actually know what it is and can play it too.I have also ordered a harp from him and I'll let you know how it is when I get it.He is a lovely bloke and very helpful. It really is a small world.
