Hi folks

I have found several harp players on youtube who re-tune all of their harps. Todd Parrott (a superb harp player as far as I can tell btw.) always underlines the fact that his 7 draw is tuned down a half step. Another guy lowers his 3 draw by half a step and raises the 6 blow by the same amount. And so on.

I have never tried this so my question to you out there is: do you have any experience with that kind of intervention? Does it facilitate anything (play certain tunes easier)? Or does it have any major drawbacks (limit OB or bending capabilities of the harp etc.)?

After all the Richter tuning is just one of the many possible ways of tuning a harp. Maybe there are some better ways to do that. And not having to fight for the right intonation on that blue 3rd all the time sure sounds sexy to me ;)

Let me know what your experiences are.
