It was mentioned a couple of times that MBHforum was the biggest on the web? What do you think?
What other harp communities do you frequent/know of and how big/active would you estimate them? What do you like/dislike?

I know there's the one of Jason Ricci and his Boyfriend (harmonicaspace.com) I think it is smaller (less posts), but there are quite a lot of pros (i think...). Then there's Harp-L which seems to be some sort of harp-www-community-dinosaur (quite impressive, actually...).

Anybody here that is part of the Harmonica Club?

P.s. does anybody know the rough size of the MBHforum aka the Harpfriends community... Adam?

Just out of curiosity...

I subscribed to Harp-L once and within a day I was inundated with emails so I unsubscribed.

I get the Harp-L digest, which means I only get at most 3 emails a day (often less). It does make it feel like less of a discussion though. I love Harp-L.

The forum at Bushmanmusic.com is worthwhile (home of Delta Frosts). I mostly lurk there but there are a number of really savvy harpers who are really active and have appropriately wicked senses of humor. I think a number of folks from this forum are there as well.

Hey Guys, Dave Payne of Elk River Harmonicas has a Forum also. Some great cutomising tips on this forum as well as other info.
Dave seems like a very nice guy too and has some nice quirky articles on his forum.

MBH forums are my primary source for harp discussion.

I receive digests from harp-l which are really good sometimes. I dont actually actively send messages at this point though. Just listening & trying to learn what I can.

My third source is probably youtube. I check out what is going on with harpfriends, kudzurunner, etc etc daily. Unfortunately I havent broken down & bought a webcam yet so I havent started participating in posts.

Probably the last source I frequent on (at least) a weekly basis is harmonicaspace. Not so much their forums but the chatrooms & occassionally hang with the members on skype. Skype get togethers are new to me & cool. I plan to participate more once I cross to more medium level intermediate.

I think there're some above I havent looked at yet that I will :) .

I belong to a small group in west central Florida. We started a club after the Jax Jam camp about 2-3 years ago called SunCoast Harmonica Club. More of a local community, we have a message board much like here but mostly keepin in touch and keepin up on local harp events. I know of another called AHE Atlanta Harmonica Enthusiest. Much like ours without the web site but many more members. If you'd like to visit us it's www.suncoastharmonicaclub.org
If you want to join the message board please email the webmaster after you sign up because we are getting 15-20 spammers a month and nothing gets approved unless it's obviously not spam.

I joined harmonicaspace.com as well, but feel most comfortable here. I also consume Youtube stuff. I feel like all that is plenty, otherwise I won't have any time in the woodshed.
